Ammonites appeared approximately 380 million years ago in the Devonien period and disappeared with Dinosaurs in the crisis Cretaceous-Tertiaire 65M years ago. This ammonite from Madagascar is a magnificent specimen of rare size, and especially its fossilization was mainly carried out in Calcite, which gave this beautiful caramelized color. It dates from the Jurassic, approximately 150 million years ago. It is sawed in 2 to admire its completely crystallized internal chambers. The grey parts are the first chamber occupied by the animall and a compartment that had a hole: alluvials have filled them. Sold by pair.
