This delicate purple lace comes from the Vanuatu archipelago. They are tiny animals hung all their life to the same substrate, lives in colonies, connected by kind of nerves, sharing food . We know 5000 species with diferent shapes, sizes, and structures, rigid (limestone) or flexible (chitinous). The visible part, which protects the bryozoaire can be disc , fan, slices, corkscrew, stick,... shaped. When they die, they become so many little touches of lace in the ocean, often white, but in rare cases, of a delicate color. We call them Venus lace.
