You’d think it was the foam of a frozen wave. This brilliant white mineral is from the last French gold mine to close in 2004: Salsigne, in the Aude. It is called Aragonite. These white crystals are growing relatively rapidly, as some have been found to "grow" after the first mining for copper 3000 years ago, in that South West area of France.
