Candle holder on South African painted calabash

Using only vegetable dyes, this South African artist transformed these vegetables, traditionally used as containers, into pieces of art. The contemporary geometric motifs on this calabash evoke African motifs and colours. The mixture with our European black brass makes this candle holder unique, or almost, since only 4 pieces have been made.
