Maison & Objet, Dolce & Gabbana, and the Art of Accumulation: One Month Later, What Remains?
It has already been a month since Maison & Objet closed its doors, yet some images remain vividly imprinted in our minds. Once again, this edition proved that curiosity is far from being a flaw—on the contrary.
• Our stand, designed as a cabinet of curiosities, captivated visitors with its carefully orchestrated accumulation and a sharp selection of rare and precious objects.
• The Dolce & Gabbana exhibition at the Grand Palais amazed us with its design and abundance—an ode to excess that strangely resonates with our world.
• And because discovery doesn’t stop at exhibitions, we’re sharing two hidden gems for you to explore at the end of this article…
RARE OBJECTS AND SCENOGRAPHY: WHEN THE CABINET OF CURIOSITIES COMES TO LIFE IN A MARVELOUS GARDEN

Two ideas guided the staging of our stand at Maison & Objet:
- Back to basics: A true cabinet of curiosities is built on a carefully curated accumulation. Here, each object interacts with another, creating an endless visual exploration. The idea? To surprise, amaze, and intrigue—just like in the 17th century… but reimagined for 2025.
- A magical escape: The world moves at full speed, so we designed a stand where visitors could hit pause. An immersive space where one curiosity leads to another until everything else fades away—even those overdue emails.
This is how our marvelous garden was born—an environment entirely shaped by green hues and textures, inviting true escapism.
A Wall of Insects and Custom-Made Objects

The Centerpiece of the Décor:
A wall made of Sternocera elytra. These Laos-native beetles, with their metallic green reflections, were meticulously assembled one by one in our Lyon workshop—a testament to the precision craftsmanship that defines us.
A 100% in-house expertise, customizable for unique creations.
These elytra also adorn our lighting fixtures, decorative boxes, and other creations… a true common thread in our universe.
The cabinet of curiosities in a chromatic version.
To give rhythm to this accumulation, we showcased each theme by color.
Red, blue, green – each tone enhancing the collection effect and structuring the space.

A Banquet Table and a Timeless Orange Facade
At the center, a large banquet table, worthy of a naturalist feast, dominated by a majestic peacock—like a distinguished guest overseeing this abundance of objects.
To complete the ensemble, an orange facade. Chic, timeless, and clearly memorable, given the number of people who asked us for its reference.
Here it is: TOLLENS REF T2068-5.
For the curious who would like to recreate the ambiance…
- Capucine the orange paint? TOLLENS REF T2068-5
- The hyper-realistic fake moss? Found by searching for "realistic moss artificial rug" (thank you, Internet!)
- The green OdC tapestry? REF PP024 Kambamba Roll
- The wild plants? Collected in the forest during a family walk (because nothing beats the collector’s eye, even in the heart of nature).
DOLCE & GABBANA EXHIBITION: WHEN FASHION FLIRTS WITH CURIOSITIES
Dolce & Gabbana has never been a discreet brand. With its bold baroque style, exceptional craftsmanship, and love for accumulation, their universe pushes exuberance to its peak—and this exhibition at the Grand Palais is the perfect demonstration of that.

So, do I see myself wearing an outfit entirely embroidered with gold and pearls? Honestly, no. But does this exhibition amaze me? Absolutely.
Just like on our stand at Maison & Objet, you walk in to see... and leave with your mind paused, captivated by the accumulation and excess. An immersive experience where every detail evokes emotion—exactly like at Objet de Curiosité.
CURIOSITY IS TASTED AND READ
Because a good exhibition never ends without a few discoveries, here are two gems that deserve your full attention.
A blog written with heart, by a word decorator… who isn’t a decorator, but a schoolteacher. She observes, tells stories, and describes with poetic precision what she sees and loves. Here, there’s no AI, just a heart-driven intelligence that resonates with true authenticity.
A gustatory curiosity just the way we like it. Their idea? To distill sesame. Yes, sesame. The result is incredible, intriguing, and fascinating. And if we’re talking about it, it’s not (only) because we know them, but mainly because we love their boldness. Personally, it's the smoked version that fascinates me.
Two worlds, two visions of curiosity, to read and savor...
