We all know it: trends come and go. Some settle in like a kilim rug, subtly, in small touches. Others make a grand entrance, like an oversized wicker chandelier—you simply can’t miss them.

By mid-2025, it feels like the perfect moment to take a step aside. Not to predict the future by staring at linen-colored moodboards, but to observe what design trends are telling us—and how they do, or don’t, resonate with our world.

At Objet de Curiosité, we don’t follow trends to the letter—we dissect them. We handle them, display them under glass, and let them converse with an ammonite, a selenite branch, or a shard of malachite. Here, nature isn’t an accessory; it’s subject, substance, and memory.

So let’s keep our eyes open, take out the magnifying glass, and explore what these 2025–2026 home trends are really made of—with a bit of distance, plenty of curiosity, and a touch of irreverence.

Before the color charts, there is the Palette of the earth.

The 2025 trends celebrate earth tones: ochre, brown, terracotta, sand… Gentle, reassuring shades inspired by nature—or at least by its softened image.

At Objet de Curiosité, we prefer to go straight to the source. Here, earth is not a color: it is a material. Fossils, stones, petrified wood… Not stylistic effects, but presences, chosen for their strength and their silence.

We don’t just mimic nature—we invite it in. Aragonite, septaria, crystallized trunks… Geological fragments that don’t seek to flatter a passing taste, but to anchor a space. Not an evocation, but an elegant confrontation with deep time.

Natural bands ranging from beige to caramel, shaped by millennia of deposits. This raw, barely polished piece evokes a miniature desert landscape. Place it as a central object, without adding much around it: it is complete in itself.

A heart-shaped specimen, cut to reveal its inner mineral chambers—black, beige… a mineral heart telling the story of 100 million years of crystallization.

Same principle, but even more raw: an entire trunk turned to stone, crystallized from within, with a rugged, vibrant surface. An object of strength, of calm—almost meditative.

Before rounded furniture, there are nature’s curves.

“Rounded furniture” dominates the 2025–2026 moodboards: half-moon sofas, elliptical mirrors, pebble tables… We forget that nature had already traced these curves, long before designers drew inspiration from them. Shaped by growth, crystallization, or evolution, they owe nothing to the compass.

Ammonite spirals, the whorls of a giant shell, the emerald-green meanders of malachite… Each concentric arc, each sinuosity tells of deep time—geological, biological, oceanic.

A perfectly preserved fossil spiral, this ammonite is a lesson in organic geometry. Nothing aligned, nothing straight—yet a strange, hypnotic balance born of life itself.

A gentle spiral, a pearly ivory hue, and an almost baroque amplitude. This monumental shell evokes a sacred object or an ancient vase… sculpted by the sea.

Inside this green stone appear circles, whorls, irregular layers almost liquid in form. The result of copper oxidizing over millions of years.

Before the effects of texture, there are materials to be touched.

The trend is all about touch. Bouclé wools, corduroy velvets, textured papers… Everything becomes a little fuzzy, a little matte, a little “made to be caressed with the fingertips.”

At Objet de Curiosité, textures are born with a certain sense of spectacle—they are the imprint of what has grown, breathed, cooled, or vanished.

Natural textures don’t just flatter the touch, they summon it: an urge to brush lightly, to understand with the hand what the eye only suggests. We’re not chasing comfortable softness, but the true relief that formed on its own: marine branches, porous structures, meteoritic metallic surfaces…

A coral bowl where every vein tells of a breath. The texture is both delicate and irregular—somewhere between lace and an underwater skeleton. To gaze at or to brush lightly, depending on the mood.

A fascinating assemblage of beetle shells, shimmering in iridescent emerald-green hues. Bound together, they form an almost textile-like material—lustrous, rigid, yet shifting under the light. A vibrant surface, at once natural and supernatural.

A surprising natural formation, made of small spheres fused together like a cluster of mineral bubbles frozen in time. Its texture evokes both a bunch of fruit and a cellular structure. A mineral object that almost makes you want to take a bite (at your own risk).

Before trendy plants, there are plants that tell the story of life.

One can love plants and stones… without living in a spa. At Objet de Curiosité, nature does not aim to soothe or simply look pretty. It bears witness, documents, questions.

Fossil leaves, seeds under glass, marine plant structures: here, the vegetal is not content to be decorative. It evokes a place, a time, a biological logic. It does not fill a void—it sparks a story.

With its branching silhouette, this black gorgonian from the Philippines evokes an underwater tree. A marine structure between plant and animal, frozen like a biological drawing. A marine plant without chlorophyll.

A miniature cabinet: flamboyant seeds, mimosa, eucalyptus… Each specimen is a frozen promise of growth, a fragment of biodiversity placed in silence.

An undergrowth from the Carboniferous, captured in stone. The delicacy of the imprint tells of a distant era when humans did not yet exist, but vegetal forms were already inventing themselves.

Before copy-paste interiors, there are objects that tell the story of your uniqueness.

Faced with standardized interiors, where the same aesthetic codes play on repeat, another path emerges: that of uniqueness. Not the flashy spectacular, but the rare, inhabited object—the one that creates a rupture in space. The one you won’t find elsewhere, because it carries within it a story, a transformation, a trace.

At Objet de Curiosité, we don’t aim to produce style icons: we collect pieces that bear witness.

To the passage of time.
To the hand of man.
To nature’s adaptation.
In short, to the real world—in all its complexity and fascination.

A dried fruit turned natural sculpture, the gourd has long been a utilitarian object, harvested and transformed. Here, it becomes pure form and vegetal memory, with a quiet elegance.

A patiently assembled composition of lepidopterans, in vibrant colors. More than decoration: an entomological homage, somewhere between collection and memory.

These pieces do not follow trends: they resist their homogeneity.
They embody the contemporary desire to inhabit differently—with meaning, with memory, with the organic.

In an era that produces uniformity, they introduce the poetic dissonance of the real.

An industrial remnant transformed by the flow of thermal water. Man made the pipe; nature covered it, mineralized it, poeticized it.

A fragment of the sky, fallen in Russia in 2013. Displayed in a surprise box, this sidereal stone quite literally comes from another world.

Bottle with spondylus. A piece of waste transformed into habitat, human discard turned into a base for life. This hybrid object encapsulates the Anthropocene in all its complexity: our traces do not disappear, they mutate.

Living in our time without losing ourselves in it

Yes, we look at trends. Like everyone else. They say something about our time, our desires, our fears—sometimes too much. They offer a shared language. And that’s fine.

But what we love, at Objet de Curiosité, is to slip something else into the story.

An object not designed to please everyone. A material not polished just to look nice. A piece that tells of a detour, a memory, a peculiarity.

An interior is not a set to follow—it’s a story to be written. And we love it when our objects become yours: a memory, a treasure, a detail that reflects you.

We like making sure your home looks like no other.

And if you ever need an eye—or an idea—for that: we’re here.
