Calabash on black base
PUVE052-4
This calabash is decorated with a tin pattern typical of the traditional art of Berber culture. This object had a double function: it served to contain and preserve liquids such as water or oil, while also being an ornamental artistic piece that expressed the aesthetics and cultural values of Berber society. Dried calabash had the particularity of being light, solid and waterproof, thus making containers adapted to the movements of these nomadic populations. But a calabash decorated with tin is our little intervention..
