Amazing ammonite Ancyloceras (130-125M years old, lower cretaceous). Found in the South Moroccan Atlas, an extremely meticulous restoration was made on the peaks. The evolution of ammonites, for a long time considered as an evolutionary degeneration, is at present anticipated more as an adaptive answer (in the shape or the size of ammonites) to deal with modifications of the marine ecosystems (increasing temperatures of the oceans). This unique specimen is the begining of the evolution of ammonites before they completely disappear from the earth.
