Block of Albian ammonite from Madagascar (13.6kg)
PUFO334
This block of Ammonites is a real picture of a seabed of more than 100 million years. There is the diversity of ammonites living in the lower Cretaceous in what is today Madagascar. These are mainly Cleoniceras Besairei. The lack of acidity in the sedimentation medium made it possible to preserve the beautiful mother-of-pearl that this shell had. Hence the magnificent contrast between the very dull matrix and the pearly brilliance of the ammonites. In the foreground, a little more ribbed: an Aioloceras besairiei.
