Here is a family where the members are not really alike. The slow, round crab with its red dots: Carpilius maculatus. the slipper lobster, much flatter: Thenus orientalis, or on the contrary the the swimmer crab with its flattened hind legs, which allows it to move much faster while swimming. The crab that hides behind its huge shield-shaped claws: a Calappa, and the small but elegant round and smooth crab: Ilila nucleus with its long and thin claws. Yet they are all crabs, reunited as a family under this rectangular glass display: perfect to observe them!
