Naturalised spiny spider crab in steel plate

A steel plate taxidermy mixing industrial style and the marine world. Cut to measure with a plasma torch. This is the Maja Squinado spiny spider crab, the species found all around the Mediterranean. After the month of July, these crabs go deeper than 50 metres to "hibernate in the cool" The males have slightly larger claws than the females, but this one was still young when it was hauled up into a fishing net at Safi in Morocco.
