Account book Haiti 1851
PUL007-1
Who says accounting can’t be exciting? This is the accounting ledger of a family of traders in Jacmel, a city in the South East of Haiti. It is a testimony of the life of this port from 1851 to 1854 that passes before your eyes: coffee, herring, crystallized fruit... The carefully executed calligraphy records purchases, harvests, coffee cargoes to the United States... Nothing extraordinary, just the ordinary life of a general store in Jacmel Haiti, during the Second Empire of Haiti. but that's something!
