The Great Mormon is a velvety black butterfly with a coat of red spots on its underside. But you won't see the red in this frame with magnifier. It is a male, as females have more colourful wings with these red spots on the upper part. The caterpillar of the Papilio Memnon imitates a small snake with 2 false eyes that are simply black spots. It can be found from India to Japan. The magnificent black velvet of its wings can be observed with the magnifying glass always ready at the end of its chain.
