Pair of EUPLOEA butterflies in entomologist’s box
Butterflies of the EUPLOEA genus belong to the Nymphalidae family, subfamily Danainae – the same group as the famous Monarchs. Native to Asia and Oceania, these butterflies are known for their slow, majestic flight and their typically dark wings, often dotted with white or metallic blue spots.
This pair features two specimens with a restrained yet elegant pattern, characteristic of the genus. They are displayed in a museum-inspired entomologist’s box, with a deep bordeaux exterior highlighted by pale blue edging along the corners. The neutral interior invites close observation.
