Gold and blue. These three AGRIAS BEATA butterflies, native to the tropical forests of South America (Peru in tha case), are among the most striking species in the region. Their upper wings show an intense, almost electric blue, which shifts with the light. The underside, often duller, creates a surprising contrast when viewed from below.
AGRIAS are also known for their fast flight and territorial behaviour, often spotted high in the forest canopy.
