Golden Obsidian disc in spinning brass stand
MI160
This disc of polished stone will go from a deep black to golden reflections clearly visible when you make it spin on its brass stand. Obsidian is lava very rich in silica, that cooled so fast that crystals did not have time to form. These "golden hues" like a frozen stream, are micro air-bubbles stuck deep in the black lava that appear when polishing the surface of this very dense mineral, similar to glass. we can make these movements appear, frozen forever. Tequila Volcano, Jalisco state. Mexico
