This slice of ametrine comes from Bolivia. It is the rare encounter between purple amethyst and yellow citrine that creates a unique two-colored quartz.
Citrine is an evolution of amethyst, when the temperature continues to increase. Even in its natural state, during its formation. today many traders heat amethyst of low quality, to obtain "citrine".
But when the two shades are found in the same crystal, it’s very rare. the temperature had to vary at the time of crystallization. This natural alternation produces purple and yellow zones, unique to ametrine.
