Indeed, 154cm high! A rare dimension. This real underwater tree is indeed the skeleton of a colony of small marine organisms with tentacles: polyps. A skeleton made of gorgonine, and which does not need light to grow. That’s why we find these gorgonians at greater depths than the corals. Always perpendicular to the current, so that the polyps filter the ocean to feed on plankton. This one comes from Micronesia.
