Most members of this infraorder occur in the tropics and subtropics, but their range can extend farther north, e.g. into the southern and western regions of the United States.
Only a few species can be found in Europe. And only the small Nemesia caementaria, that can live up to 20 years, can be found in the South of France.
This large one comes from Thailand: the Tarantula Cyriopagopus minax (former Haplopelma minax).
