The 4 stages of the flight of the Goliathus Orientalis: 4 small taxidermies to describe the fledging of the Goliath (largest beetle of the world) .You can observe the mechanism of release of wings of this black and white beetle, described for the first time in 1801 by Jean-Baptiste Lamarck (a french naturalist).This African species can reach up to ten centimeters long and weigh up to 100g, what makes the show of their first flight at the begining of the raining season when they crowl out of the ground, very impressive. The Y-shaped black horn of the males is used as a lever, fighting during reproductive period or just defending a sweet fruit.
