Idolomantis diabolica is one of the largest praying mantis in the world (the female can indeed exceed the 13cm ). Her long thin legs seem equipped with protection on the elbows and knees... She is African, from Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Somalia, Tanzania, South Sudan and Uganda. Its color palette changes from green to red by taking purple and brown tones. It is in fact a biological camouflage allowing it to disappear within endemic flowers . This Evil mantis comes from a farm, which must have many individuals, because the males become adult before the females. One more chance to have a genetic mixing!
