Pair of EUPATORUS beetles – in entomologist’s display box
IN344
This couple of beetles from the genus EUPATORUS belongs to the Dynastinae family, commonly known as rhinoceros beetles. The male, with 3 spectacular horns, looks like he’s escaped from a fantastical bestiary. The female, more discreet, has a stout yet equally commanding silhouette.
Native to Thaïland, these beetles are often studied for their marked sexual dimorphism and their role in tropical ecosystems, where they help break down organic matter.
They are displayed in a museum-inspired entomologist’s box, with a deep bordeaux exterior and pale blue edging along the corners.
