Labradorite slab – Madagascar – 1.9kg
PUMI2692-2
This labradorite slab comes from the deposits near Maniry, in southwestern Madagascar—one of the island’s most renowned sources of high-quality feldspar. The name “labradorite” comes from the Labrador Peninsula in Canada, where the mineral was first identified in the 18th century. But Madagascar offers the most vivid specimens, thanks to its unique geological conditions.
The stone has been fully polished on both faces, revealing the full effect of its labradorescence: shimmering flashes of blue, green, gold, and occasional violet. This slab cut is a first in our collection and enhances the interplay of light across the entire surface.
