30G Gebel Kamil meteorite (Egypt) in vertical levitation
PUMI2616-2
This 30 grams meteorite comes from the Gebel Kamil crater, located in the heart of the Egyptian desert, a region that has preserved this specimen from climatic alterations. Discovered in 2009, this iron meteorite is primarily composed of kamacite, an alloy rich in iron and nickel. It also contains rare minerals such as troilite, schreibersite, and daubréelite.
A total of about 1600 kg of iron meteorite ifragments were found in the impact crater Kamil in Egypt. Plus a single individual of 83 kg completely covered with regmaglyptes. This 45 m diameter crater was discovered by an Italian-Egyptian geophysical team in February 2009.
Objet de Curiosité highlights this cosmic relic in a levitating display. This design, inspired by the steampunk aesthetic, elevates the raw beauty of this celestial object while balancing science and art.
