Green chrysoprase lingam
PUMI2137-2
Of course the worshippers of Shiva in India do not pray with a Chrysoprase Lingam: this stone made of many shades of green is found in Madagascar. And in Madagascar there is no religious tradition of pruning lingams. It is a variety of Chalcedony with Nickel inclusions, whose most colorful parts are often cut in cabochon. At Objet de Curiosité we wanted to preserve them in a larger dimension, because this oval shape highlight the few brown veins that run through these beautiful green stones. And this shape fits them so well. This one is the largest on the left of the picture: 29cm long.
