Sea urchin tests COELOPLEURUS MAILLARDI in glass
AN446
These small "shells" of sea urchins -which we call tests- are so colorful that it looks like they are painted. However, underwater in Indonesia you could not approach this sea urchin. First because they live at very great depth (from -100 to -500 meters), and then because it has long spikes (radioles), which are curiously red and white, a bit like the colored bands of its test. And it’s rather curious because he lives in the dark of the abyssal depths... an elegant detail just for himself!
