Syncerus caffer nanus, the African forest buffalo. Of course his name suggests he is small, but only compared to other extra large african Buffalo (Syncerus caffer). This very large vintage trophy must have belonged to a very large forrest Buffalo (up to 350Kg). A sub-species living in the rainforest of West and Central africa. They live in small herds (often less than 10).
