Skeleton of CHAMAELEO CALYPTRATUS
PU1083-7
This white skeleton, displayed in a natural pose, clearly shows the morphology of the veiled chameleon: the distinctive casque on its head and the long prehensile tail, a true “fifth limb” used to anchor itself to branches.
This specimen was born in the Czech Republic,he lived in a vivarium in italy, and when he passed away, we prepared its skeleton.
The process relies on the meticulous work of Dermestidae larvae, which clean the animal of its soft tissues, before the skeleton is mounted and whitened by the taxidermist. An efficient yet risky method, since these insects must be kept strictly isolated to prevent them from damaging other collections.
Mounted in a glass case on stand, this specimen naturally fits within a contemporary cabinet of curiosities.
Species listed under CITES, with full traceability.
