Amazonite slab from Madagascar
PUMI2688
This slab comes from the pegmatite deposits of Madagascar, known for producing amazonite with vivid colour. The mineral is a variety of microcline, a potassium feldspar coloured by traces of lead and rubidium.
Both sides have been polished to reveal the natural contrast between the green-blue amazonite, white feldspar veins, and darker areas of the surrounding matrix. The irregular outline follows the original shape of the nodule, without any cutting or reshaping.
A mineral fragment, preserved as found in the complexity of magmatic rock.
