Tree branch crystalized by Selenite. Australia

Branch found on the banks of a salt lake of South Australia (Lake Frome). This branch has been intermittently filled with water, according to the rare floods and dry periods. The northern part of the lake is bordered by gypsum dunes So that the water is also loaded with Selenite. Several years have been necessary to partialy cover the branch: those thin crystals have naturaly grown. Displayed on a brass stand, under glass.
