This is a 14th of July peacock (French national day), as this blue Peafowl originaly from India, was living in the north of France, in Alsace. And in France, males are at the very top of their plumage between early July and August. Then they lose their beautiful feathers, then a new cycle starts again. This one went out just before losing its huge tail. Pavo Cristatus is one of the most famous ornamental birds in centuries. It is native to Rajasthan where you can see large groups landing in the trees at night to sleep.
