globefish under glass
AN126
When they feel in danger, globefish inflate them to frighten their attacker. They do it by accumulating air or water in their oesophagus until taking a spherical form.
Globefish accumulate a toxin, called tétrodotoxine, in all their bodies, except for their muscles, which make them mortally poisonous. This toxin is thus an additional weapon, to discourage the possible predatory ones.
