Pinolite is a name inspired by the "pine needle" shape of the white Magnetite inclusions in a Dolomite matrix. The combination of these two minerals creates a contrasting and visually striking pattern. It comes from the eastern part of Austria, at an altitude of more than 1000 meters, from a mine that ceased to be operated in 2012: Sunk. But one of the retired miners got a polishing bench.
