Fordite – Illinois, USA

Fordite is not a rockl. But it’s a real curiosity. And beautiful too! The story: on the manufacturing lines of the Ford Explorer in Chicago, USA, the carcasses are painted on a cart that then goes through an oven. Since the car body paints are fired at 70 degrees celsius. And the same cart will again go to the oven with another car, perhaps of a different color, and so on for years. After several weeks, the cart is finally cleaned because hundreds of cars have received a layer of color. This part therefore comes from a pipe on the side of the cart: overspray of paint. By working it asymmetrically, we bring out all these colors.
