Barrel sponge from Madagascar. This marine animal feeds by filtering water and can be observed on coral reefs where it mixes with gorgons and corals between 2 and 50 meters deep. Cleansing shrimp and ophiures starfish often live along its outer crevices. Xestospongia Testudinaria, can reach more than 1 meter in diameter and looks a lot like Xestospongia Muta, the giant barrel sponge that lives in the West Indies, and can reach 2 meters high.This curiosity nevertheless reacts to the ambient humidity by giving off a marine smell. A window display product more than a coffe table one.
