Giant bat
PU478
This Flying fox is one of the largest species of bat of the world. This Pteropus Vampyrus, unlike its name suggests, is not a blood hunter at all! It feeds on fruits only! From Malaysia to australia, they can be seen at dusk flying in groups around fruit trees, before they land on the tips of branches in an upright position, then fall into a head-down position from which they feed. Like nearly all fruit bats, they can't echolocate. So they developped a sharp night vision. This rather young specimen still have grey hairs, and will turn more orange (fox) when adult.
