This fat starfish is a Thromidia Catalai, coming from the Indo-Pacific ocean, from Indonesia to Hawaï. It lives in areas of concentration of natural marine detritus near the reefs, often beyond 30 meters of bottom.5 sausage-shaped arms, containing probably the heaviest species of Asteroidea of the world: up to 6 kg! Not the largest one of the world: Midgardia xandaras from the Mexican gulf that has a record at 1.4 meters diameter!
