White aragonite (5.2kg) in oval glass
PUMI1259-2
The Salsigne Mine in the South West of France is a former open pit gold mine who closed since 2004. It has been the largest mine of Europe It produced over the years some large and dramaticly crystallised Aragonite specimens. The rounded nodules of this piece represent the early stage of the formation of the Aragonite. Each white sphere is fully crystalized with very thin clear crystals that give that luster. Some pieces lately took a coralloidal shape, with branches similar to corals.
