This natural rough stone is from North East of Brazil, in the area of Bahia. A striped, blue and white quartzite of the Precambrian period, and this blue colour is caused by 12% of Dumortierite. The different layers of blue to milky, are a strong quartz, with the shine due to 10% of Muscovite. This blue quartz is called Azul Boquira, but the name of Blue Quartz from Bahia is common with another type of stones (Azul Macaubas), that you can also see on our website: we loved the colors from this part of Brazil!
