This amazing white star on a black background looks a lot like an edelweiss, yet artists from the Hubei province in China see a Chrysanthemum flower. This is a radial crystallization of white Calcite and Aragonite in a softer limestone matrix. The contrast between this white flower and the matrix is slightly improved: the limestone matrix is darkened as it can be seen on the last picture. But it still is a natural phenomenon.
