Amethyst flower (Brazil)
PUMI1739
It's not exactly a flower, of course, but a cluster made of hundreds of elestial crystals - crystals that have natural terminations on the body and the faces. Usualy they are radiating from a central point. They are actually an amethyst pseudomorph after calcite. It means amethyst, under certain temperatures, moisture, pressure... managed to replace Calcite crystals. As Calcite crystals quite often grow in amethyst geodes. A nice contrast with the dark green Basalt Matrix.
