Vintage insects collection - Elateridae
PUIN013-2
The private collection of a French entomologyst, P. Darge, who was also a diplomat. Traveling around the 5 continents from the 50's to the late 70's, searching for Elateridae: the long beetles that are able to flip in the air if they fall on their back. And Cerambycidae, the long horns beetles that usually live only on one type of tree. The simple wooden box containing thousands of insects have been replaced by the type of boxes of the French Natural History museum. Much nicer, but too costly for such a huge collection! This box is about Elateridae.
