Green ball of Elytra beetle wings

A new refined material made of Jewel beetles shields from Thaïland -Sternocera Aequisignata- The satin brass stand highlight the iridescent metallic shield of this wood-boring beetle. It can be found through Thailand, Myanmar up to India. It was common in some of the ancient refined cultures of Burma and Thailand to attach beetlewing pieces as an adornment to textiles and jewelry.Their Life span as adults is short (around 3 weeks), they are focused on a fast reproduction, and the collectors catch do not have a significant impact on their numbers, so far. In decorating the Belgium Royal Palace artist Jan Fabre used over one and a half million beetle wing cases to cover a ceiling.
