Slab of Ametrine inside brass plate
PUMI857
A slab of Ametrine crystals from Bolivia: This mineral is made of alternating sectors of purple (Amethyst) and clear to yellow color (Citrine heart). This rare phenomenon occurs when the temperature in the geode during the formation of the crystal, was very high so that the amethyst begins to be transformed into Citrine (amethyst + heat at 450 degrees = citrine). Slabs cut perpendicular to the axis of the crystals shows the clear heart of this large crystal, with some Citrine inside.
