Brazilian amethyst on black metal. The largest source of amethysts in the world is Brazil. This colour appeared naturally after an irradiation process, several million years ago: turning the iron impurities in the complex crystal lattice into these incredible purple Silica crystals. The special feature of this piece is the crystallization of white Calcite which forms these white bouquets on a purple background. A crystallization that took place after the formation of the geode.
