Bright and incredible colors from Australia: Mookait Jasper. This sedimentory mineral is made of skeletons of microscopic protozoa - Radiolaria - especially their hard silica shell, deposited over millenia in that former sea bed. This silica deposit shows variations of colors due to other minerals gathering in nodules in a soft clay. This yellow and red specimen is just unbelievable.
