Sphere of blue calcite in spining brass stand.
PUMI1915
Calcite can take many colors and can be seen in many places around the earth. It is still a natural Calcium Carbonate base, but the other elements that will add to the solution (when it is still dissolved in water) will give it a red, white, yellow... or blue color. Thus, Cobalt will give a pink fushia color, Manganese a light pink color, iron, zinc will also tint it, ... But this blue stone of Madagascar was formed by inclusions of metallic ions of Copper. This soft color earned it the name of Angelite.
