4 Giant polished Turbos under glass globe.
PU954-1
A great classic in the cabinets of curiosity since the 18th century. But gathered under the same globe, it is impressive. This large pearly shell with pink reflections is actually a giant green Turbo from Madagascar (known as the green turban). It was completely polished to highlight the mother-of-pearl layer. This species has been fished commercially for a long time to make buttons of coats because it has a very thick layer of MOP. The operculum that allows to lock itself completely has sometimes been used as a paperweight, when the Turbo Marmoratus reaches this very large dimension.
