These cubic crystals are American. They come from the Mojave desert in California. The pink Halite is made of Sodium Chloride -rock salt- but it's color is due to a microscopic, salt-loving bacteria, called halobacteria. Those crystals had to grow slowly, that's necessary for large crystals Halite, under a crust of evaporated salt, to protect from the maximum heat, in those ancient lake.
