Tail of Ray on base
PU1044-2
A curiosity? A tail of a Ray from Madagascar on a wooden base. Rays have a distinct, serrated sting on their tail: the stinger. The stinger is related to venom glands, but the Ray only use it as self defense. There is 220 different species of Stingrays in the world, and like sharks, their skeleton is made of cartilaginous. Very Large one, rare. The one on the left on the picture.
